Winsystem — INtouch Player Tracking System
Modernizing legacy casino machines with a user-friendly digital layer.
Business Challenge
Casinos were running thousands of perfectly functional but painfully outdated slot machines. Replacing the hardware was too expensive, but keeping it as-is meant players had no digital interaction, no loyalty features, and no modern experience.
Winsystem needed a way to bring these old machines into the present without ripping them out of the casino floor — essentially a UX facelift over legacy hardware with strict gaming regulations.
Approach
As the UX/UI designer, I created INtouch, a touchscreen player-tracking interface mounted directly onto existing slot machines. I designed flows for:
- Logging in and tracking loyalty points
- Adding credits and redeeming bonuses
- Ordering food or merchandise from the machine
- Surfacing relevant promotions without overwhelming the player
The challenge was balancing modern UX with the rigid constraints of casino hardware and compliance rules. This meant designing within fixed resolutions, supporting glove-based interactions, and ensuring every step met regulatory standards.
Outcome
• Gave legacy slot machines a second life through a modern digital layer
• Improved player engagement and loyalty-program visibility
• Reduced friction between players and revenue-generating actions
• Delivered a UX framework scalable across multiple casino environments
INtouch helped casinos modernize without multimillion-dollar hardware replacements — the perfect blend of practicality and design impact.
